Scope
Free daily puzzles, geography games and drawing games that run in a browser without downloads. We leave out anything with gambling mechanics, open voice chat or a paywall in front of the main game.
Caspriveta is a small Bristol publication about browser games that families can play together. We started it after one too many breakfasts spent explaining Wordle’s colours to grandparents, and we still write for that table.

Hannah Okafor, a former primary-school teacher, writes the guides; Gethin Price tests every game on old tablets and school laptops. A rotating group of Bristol households plays along and tells us where we got things wrong.
Guides describe each game as we found it on the date shown, adverts and sign-up prompts included. When a game changes, we test it again and update both the guide and its date.

Whether a new player understands the rules from the first screen, without an adult explaining.
How well the game works with two or more people round one screen, or comparing results later.
What players pick up along the way: spelling, maps, vocabulary or simply patience.
Chat, adverts, accounts and data: what a parent should check before a child plays.
Choose a game from the list, read the guide together, and give it a go tonight. Then tell us how it went, especially if the youngest player won.
